It’s really cool when people start making connections between what happens in our everyday lives — how we learn from each other — and the content of this book and why it applies to our work lives too. Here’s a great example:

Great article. I’ve looked up at least 3 things this weekend that 10-15 years ago I may have had to hire someone else to do… I’ve self-serviced my coffee maker (thank you seattlecoffeegear.com), I learned how to properly use a leaf-blower, and I installed a radio into an 96 Ford. I wouldn’t say that this is my average weekend, but it certainly shows what a brain-share/resource the internet has become and how frequently I rely on Social Learning.
I’d be curious to know the economic impact that Social Learning has had on businesses that used to rely upon people not knowing things that they are now picking up online.
Does anyone know of any good studies on that?
